Paul makes an overarching statement in Colossians 3:14 after explaining what kinds of behavior Christians are to “put on” as ones who have set their mind on things above. Paul says that, like an overcoat, love should be draped over all other actions that Christians put on for the sake of pleasing God, uniting with others, and maturing in the faith.
